The Space
Bag End meets the Wild West! Nestled in Miller Valley, the original agricultural area of Prescott, The Shire of Prescott is a 1930’s farm shed renovated and expanded in the early 2000’s by a group of Prescott College students. Inspired by sustainability and fantasy, the unique construction, and beautiful artwork include ground blue jean insulation, lime, clay, and straw plaster raised walls, live edge woodwork and a spectacular Hobbit door. Updated in 2024 and decorated with Hobbiton touches of antique furniture, books, board games, and lovely carpets, The Shire is now a comfortable and cozy getaway to relax and enjoy or to use as a home base while visiting beautiful northern Arizona. Whether you are a hardcore LOTR fan or just an individual that enjoys creativity, this little house will delight you!

Take the short 30-minute walk through Granite Creek Park to Courthouse Square and Whisky Row then come home and soak in the hot tub while gazing at the stars above the dragon protecting the house. You can also walk straight up the street west to the Fair Grounds to catch the World’s Oldest Rodeo.

No car necessary as The Shire of Prescott is just a few blocks from the Groome Shuttle main office. If you prefer to bring your electric car, enjoy charging at your home away from home using the Level 2 charger at a rate of 25-35 miles per hour.

There are many fine restaurants nearby as well as a grocery store and a Saturday farmers’ market within walking distance. The Shire offers a kitchen with a small oven, a portable induction cooktop, refrigerator/freezer, and 6-in-1 microwave, air fryer, broiler, convection oven, grill, defrost combo. The kitchen also boasts a Vitamix blender, Keurig coffee pot/espresso machine, portable ice maker, electric tea kettle, and toaster. Basic cookware, dishware, glassware, knives, kitchen tools, and storage containers are all in the kitchen.

Other Things To Note
While this home has a full kitchen, please note that there is not the usual stove top, but rather a hot plate for any stove top cooking you may need to do.
